Unlock Deeper Ease and Greater Capacity
What would it be like to lead from a place of embodied presence, radical clarity, and inner coherence?
Welcome to Deep Rest at Work
How do you want to experience yourself at work and in life?

Hello, I'm Navreet Chawla. I'm the founder and facilitator of Deep Rest at Work. I help teams, leaders, and individuals in high-demand environments slow down, completely disconnect, and restore. Resting is a skill. I create psychological and embodied safety, allowing you to rest and switch off so you can recover from chronic stress and nervous system dysregulation. I want you to experience and recognise the felt sense of rest in your body. My intention is to build your nervous system's capacity for work, rest, and connection, strengthen your emotional resilience, and help you access radical clarity.
I want you to feel connected, integrated, nourished, and alive in our work together and in life.
My unique approach is a science-backed protocol that integrates nervous system science, neurobiology, somatic awareness, breathwork, and cognitive neuroscience with Deep Rest to help you cultivate a sustainable relationship with stress by rewiring a new pathway of rest and recovery. I'm here to help you identify and address the deeper currents of unease in your nervous system and in the workplace that contribute to stress, overwhelm, disconnection, and burnout, so you can show up when it really matters and be at your best.
Deep Rest at Work reconnects you to your embodied intelligence and rewires your nervous system's relationship to stress, overwhelm, exhaustion, and burnout, so you can experience greater ease, freedom, flow, and aliveness in your life.
Burnout is cumulative nervous system dysregulation.
Burnout is a physiological signal from an overwhelmed nervous system that's become dysregulated and depleted after being in a prolonged state of chronic stress activation without adequate restoration and recovery. Powering through exhaustion and burnout doesn't work; it's counterproductive and no longer sustainable. Your nervous system is designed to handle short bursts of stress followed by adequate restoration and recovery.
A regulated nervous system requires a balance between activation (stress/activity) and recovery (‘rest and digest’) to avoid chronic exhaustion, burnout and emotional dysregulation. When teams operate under chronic, cumulative stress and urgency without deep rest, cognitive capacity, efficacy, innovation, and creativity decline, emotional reactivity increases, and the quality of decision-making and strategic thinking deteriorates, undermining collaboration and overall team resilience.
Deep Rest is a physiological reset that shifts your nervous system into a restorative, parasympathetic state, restoring capacity and inner coherence, emotional regulation, and resilience.
Less urgency. Greater clarity.
When we slow down, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves, we become more centred and present. By balancing our autonomic nervous system, we shift our physiology from states of high stress, threat and chronic tension to spacious ease and flow. In states of deeply rested ease, we're better able to regulate our emotional responses and access a radical clarity that guides our decision-making. By cultivating embodied awareness, we become more attuned to unprocessed emotions, limiting beliefs, behaviours and thought patterns underlying chronic stress, habitual tension, and resistance held in our nervous system, which diminishes our capacity to be fully present and available for what really matters.
Reduced tension. More ease.
Ease doesn't imply a lack of effort; it's a way of being that expands our capacity to respond to challenges and uncertainty with emotional steadiness, spaciousness, clarity, curiosity, connection and the right amount of effort. With ease, your nervous system learns to hold space for complexity, ambiguity, paradox, and uncertainty during times of change and transition without feeling the need to grip tightly or control the situation. You'll discover how to pause and centre yourself in the space between 'stimulus and response', so you're no longer communicating or making decisions from a place of reactivity, anxiety, overwhelm, stress, and fatigue. Spacious ease allows you to be regulated, responsive and resilient under pressure, embrace discomfort and trust your inherent embodied intelligence to guide you through difficult conversations and challenging decisions.
Presence over performance.
When you choose greater ease and spacious presence, you reduce the risk of burnout, exhaustion, and overwhelm. You meet yourself and your experiences as they are, without over-efforting or adding further friction through over-performance, overthinking, urgency, resistance, perfectionism, fear, judgement or tension. When you ease into your felt, embodied leadership presence, you expand your nervous system capacity and create meaningful impact in the workplace.
The Deep Rest at Work approach
Deep Rest at Work fosters a culture of embodied leadership, connection, belonging, growth, and innovation. Drawing on science-backed tools and practices, Deep Rest at Work offers a more grounded, connected, and sustainable approach to embodied self-leadership presence in the workplace.
Our collaboration will focus on four key areas: embodied self-leadership presence, nervous system regulation and reorganisation, radical self-inquiry, and Deep Rest. Together, these areas create a foundation of embodied safety, emotional resilience, and centredness that will enable you to evolve and transform, and to lead from a place of integration, connection, deeper alignment, and intentional action—guided by purpose and meaning for sustainable impact.

EMBODIED LEADERSHIP PRESENCE
Cultivate somatic, sensory and emotional awareness, and interoception to reconnect and attune to others. Lean into your embodied wisdom to help guide your decision-making.

NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION
Calm and soothe your nervous system through somatic breathwork to reduce stress and anxiety, and welcome renewed clarity and perspective.

RADICAL SELF-INQUIRY
Identify and rewire habitual behavioural patterns, beliefs, internalised narratives and self-imposed limitations held in your subconscious mind. Align with your inner values and integrity.

DEEP REST
Relax into deeply rested ease and enter states of neural plasticity. Unwind habitual tension, stress, anxiety and exhaustion. Integrate new ways of being and receive deeper insight.
Rest is not the opposite of work, nor is it a competitor to work, but rather a partner. Rest enhances the capacity to work, and each one gives the other meaning and purpose.

What is Deep Rest?
Deep Rest is a guided hypnagogic practice that induces profound relaxation and restoration, shifting high-stress physiological states, or 'fight-or-flight' sympathetic nervous system dominance, to deep, spacious calm flow states, or 'rest-and-digest' parasympathetic activation. This nervous system reset unwinds and releases deeply held tension and accumulated stress in the body, leading to a profound sense of inner peace, centred calm and well-being.
Deep Rest is practised lying down in a comfortable position, making it accessible to people of all ages and abilities. You are gently guided into a hypnagogic state of consciousness between wakefulness and sleep, whilst remaining conscious and aware throughout. Deep Rest can induce a state of relaxation deeper than sleep. One hour of deep restoration can feel like four hours of blissful sleep, leaving you feeling grounded, refreshed, revitalised and restored.
Deep Rest is accessible, inclusive and effortless to practice. No previous experience is required. There's no special technique to learn and master over time. The rest is easy. The impact is immediate.
Each 60-minute Deep Rest Experience includes:
Guided sensory, somatic/embodied and emotional awareness
Nervous system regulation and breathwork
Radical self-inquiry
Intention setting in the subconscious mind to create new habits and behaviours.
Integration
Tension is who you think you should be.
Relaxation is who you are.

FAQS
A private, quiet, undisturbed room is essential. Please wear warm, comfortable clothing. Have a warm blanket available—your core body temperature will drop in deep states of relaxation. You can practice on a yoga mat on the floor, a recliner or even in bed if you wish. If you have lower back issues, please use extra pillows or a bolster under your legs to support your back. A head pillow or eye mask is optional. You will also need a smartphone/ laptop/ tablet to access the session online.
Deep Rest modulates activity in the Default Mode Network (DMN), which is associated with rumination and anxiety; balances activity between the rational, logical, analytical left brain and the intuitive, creative right brain; and slows brainwave activity. During a Deep Rest Session, your brain will enter Theta Brainwave states, commonly associated with enhanced creativity, problem-solving, insight, and emotional, sensory, and perceptual processing and neural plasticity, and Delta Brainwave states, usually generated in deep, dreamless sleep, which is known to be the most restorative, healing, and restful state.
In live, facilitated sessions, I check in with you to understand how I can best support you and hold space for you. The Deep Rest experiences in real time are intuitively guided—I sense and respond to what emerges energetically during the session so it resonates with you. I include breathwork and somatic embodiment exercises to soothe your nervous system and deepen your relaxation.
When we rest and co-regulate in community—in connection with one another—we co-create an intentional container for a deeper restful, more meaningful experience. Higher levels of brainwave synchronisation are associated with deeper engagement and a stronger sense of belonging.
When we rest together, we give each other permission to let go and build rest into our lives. Studies have shown that live guidance is more effective than recordings and apps. Live, facilitated guidance from an embodied, grounded presence can activate your brain's mirror neurons and entrain your endocrine system with the Deep Rest guide, allowing for a more transformative and impactful experience that will ripple into other areas of your life. There is also an opportunity at the end of the live session to ask questions, reflect, and share, all of which are optional.
The bottom line is that this type of work is relational—you cannot outsource connection, psychological safety and belonging to an app.
Absolutely! I also create bespoke rest programmes and packages for sleep, executive stress, and managing organisational change. Please get in touch below for further information.

One-to-One Embodied Leadership Coaching or Deep Rest sessions (online only)
Real change doesn't happen in your mind—it happens when your body and nervous system have the capacity to do things differently. Long-lasting meaningful change requires a gradual approach to avoid overwhelming the nervous system. In one-to-one Embodied Leadership Coaching, we move at the pace of the body. When we move slowly with intention and ease, we go further. With conscious attention, we work with your nervous system to rewire your stress response and adaptive behavioural patterns, so that, instead of defaulting to shut down (detachment), avoidance, or overdrive, you're able to invite curiosity, calm, and connection. When you reorganise your nervous system, you transform the quality of your attention and renew your seeing—your perceptions and perspective will start to shift, and you'll open up to new ways of being. You'll begin to show up for what matters most. Your embodied leadership presence will feel more alive, centred, spacious, and coherent.
If this way of working resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you. You can reach me at Navreetchawla@gmail.com.
Navreet's background
I'm an experienced Deep Rest Guide and Somatic practitioner, with a strong background in nervous system trauma healing and training in embodied presence for live performance. My unique approach to this work draws on over 20 years of experience in holistic healing as both a pharmacist and homeopath, and through my personal experience of recovery from burnout.
I've spent most of my professional life at the borderlands between biomedicine and homeopathy—holding the tension between two opposing perspectives on healing, whilst guiding tender souls in the liminal space of uncertainty between the ‘two kingdoms of the ill and well.’ During my time as a homeopathic pharmacist at The Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine and in my own private holistic health practice, I listened and tended to many patients’ stories, developing a holistic awareness of how stress, and 'ease and dis-ease' develop and evolve in the body. I witnessed profound healing through the mind-body connection. I observed how patients’ beliefs and perceptions of their experiences influenced their health and healing outcomes, and how the subconscious and the nervous system express stories through symptoms and sensations in the body.
My interest in the neuroscience of storytelling led to further study and training in Narrative Medicine with Columbia University, Narrative Therapy, Medical Humanities and true storytelling on stage. I became a host for Spark, London's first true storytelling night. My stories have featured on BBC Radio 4, the Peabody Award-winning The Moth Radio Hour on PRX and The Moth podcast, which is downloaded 100 million times a year. As a storyteller, I’m most interested in how our unconscious inner core narrative drives our experience of ourselves and our perceptions of the world. Nervous system literacy allows us to restore and reorganise ourselves from the inside out, so we can embody a more empowering narrative guided by our core values, intention, and deeper meaning through our Embodied Leadership Presence.
Thank you for being here.
